Hello and welcome to my blog.

My name is Leila, I’m Brazilian, with an Italian background, living in London and the mother of Manuella, a gorgeous and fussy little girl. This blog is a journal of all my recipes and life stories.

Although I may be new to you, I have been writing about food since 2008 on my former blog called Delishville Sem Glúten, a gluten free blog written in my native language, Portuguese.

When my daughter was born I spent a lot of my time and energy looking after her and enjoyed the maternity leave as much as I could, leaving blogging completely aside. Once the babymoon period was over I logged in to check my blog and realized that something went wrong. After exchanging a few emails with the website host, I discovered that my blog domain name had expired just after Manuella was born. I tried to get it back, but it was too late and now my blog domain name is owned by someone else who tried to charge me a huge amount of money to sell it back to me. Needless to say I did not buy it.

After that experience, I felt quite deflated and didn’t feel like blogging for a while. But, I’ve always been slightly obsessed with cooking, baking and blogging for many reasons.

Cooking is therapeutic for me. It is a field where I can not only express myself but feel a great sense of freedom. It is my way of relaxing and having fun in the kitchen. I like using fresh and seasonal ingredients and the more I cook, the more I learn and the more I respect good food.

Baking is a labor of love; it is a magical experience. I am a self-taught baker and my gluten sensitivity has enabled me to unearth many different flours and grains, develop new recipes and take my gluten free baking to a higher level. Baking is a way of pampering myself and showing my family, my little princess and my friends, just how much I love them. It is a form of nurturing and comfort and has become an important part of my life. It is, in fact, one of life’s great pleasures.

Blogging is where I want to share my passion, my gluten free discoveries and my own creations with you. So, here I am, back at the starting point and full of excitement.

My goal is for you to find, through my recipes, the same passion for food as I have.

Every ending is a new beginning and I hope you have enjoyed visiting my blog. If you have any questions or if you would like to say something, I would love to hear from you.
